The new intercommunal urban transport fleet was officially launched on Saturday in Tetouan.

The buses were handed over to Issal Tetouan, the operator in charge of urban and suburban transport, created through a partnership between the Moroccan Transport Company and Transdev, on behalf of the intercommunal entity Chamal Al Gharbi.

Operations began on Sunday with a modern fleet of 125 buses equipped with advanced and innovative systems. These vehicles were acquired and prepared by Tanja Mobilité as part of a new delegated management model.

The operator will manage the network for a period of ten years, marking a new phase focused on modernization, improved service quality, enhanced safety, and better accessibility.

The fleet will serve 19 municipalities across the prefecture of M’diq-Fnideq and the provinces of Fahs-Anjra and Tetouan Province.

Officials highlighted that the new buses are designed to facilitate access for people with disabilities, reduced mobility, and elderly passengers.

The fleet will be further strengthened by 69 additional minibuses by the end of the year, bringing the total to 194 vehicles.

This project aligns with the Royal High Directives aimed at improving public services, especially urban transport, by providing modern, reliable, and inclusive mobility solutions for all citizens.
