The 5th Edition of the International Visual Arts Festival

The 5th edition of the International Visual Arts Festival opened on Friday, September 5, 2025, in Tétouan under the theme “Art is a pleasure for everyone.”

This event, organized by the Moroccan Association for Cultural and Social Development in partnership with the Province and the Municipality of Tétouan, aims to serve as a shared space for creativity, a platform supporting young talents, and a celebration of humanity through art.

The festival also seeks to make visual arts accessible to all social groups, transcending elitism and closed boundaries.

According to the organizers, the event provides an opportunity to renew artistic solidarity among different cultures and artists from around the world, while also serving as a space for expression for new generations of creators and promoting intercultural dialogue.

The festival is also an invitation to exchange and openness, a celebration of beauty, and a moment for artistic contemplation.

In a statement to MAP, the festival director, Nissrine Chaoudri, emphasized that the event aims to bring together talented artists from all four continents, each with unique artistic skills, and to bring art closer to various segments of society.

Ms. Chaoudri noted that the opening ceremony of this edition featured the vernissage of a collective exhibition at Riyad Al Amel Square, attended by the Governor of the Province of Tétouan, Abderzak El Manssouri, and the President of the Municipality of Tétouan, Mustapha El Bakkouri, with participation from around 80 artists from Morocco, the United States, Spain, the Sultanate of Oman, Egypt, and Iraq.

She highlighted that the festival has established itself as a major artistic and cultural event, offering a rich and diverse program. This edition also paid a vibrant tribute to several artists participating in the exhibition, including Saad Ben Cheffaj, Mohamed El Amrani, Mohamed Chouikh Ben Seffaj, and the Spanish artist Margui Lopez.

For his part, artist Mohamed Chouikh expressed his great joy at receiving this tribute in his hometown, noting that the festival continues to gain recognition and strengthen its position in Tétouan’s artistic landscape due to its noble mission and clear vision.

The program for this edition includes art workshops for talented children and those with disabilities, providing them a space for free expression, as well as conferences on topics such as art through past and present, art therapy and its psychological effects, and the relationship between visual arts and theater, with participation from a wide range of academics and artists.
